Absent

This poem seeks to describe the pain and suffering a mother has as she loses her unborn child.

The thought of never see you
Never being able to hold you in my arms
Never being able to comfort you in times of trouble

Wishing I could just see your face once
Being able to hold you just once
Looking into those piercing ice blue eyes
Holding you little hand in mine
The touch of your silky smooth skin

Being able to build those memories
I will never have the chance
Some people just don’t understand what it means to have breath
To be able to see you smile & the joy you would have brought into our lives

The pain that still resides in my heart
My breath taken away
The one true hope is that I will see you someday
